This week Degesch America, Inc, in conjunction with Grainnet and Feed Professionals hosted a web based training presentation focused on the prevention of Salmonella, E. coli, Campylobacter and other pathogenic bacteria that pose a risk to our food supply.

Juan M Hernandez Vieyra (Feed Professionals) provided us with terrific data highlighting the importance of protecting food supplies from these pathogens, and discussed the products and equipment available to help us accomplish this task.

The Detia Degesch Group (DDG) based in Laudenbach, Germany has acquired Adalia Group, Inc. (Adalia) effective July 14, 2020.


Adalia is headquartered in Montreal, Canada. They are one of the leading Canadian companies in the field of stored product pest protection. Adalia’s successful business model focuses on ship and container fumigations. “Adalia’s business strategy fits well with the business model of our subsidiary, Degesch America, Inc.”, explains Dr. Marco Rudolf, CEO of Detia Degesch Group, today.

With the synergy provided by this acquisition, DDG strengthens its ongoing efforts for positive growth in the North American marketplace. “We will be better positioned to serve customers in both the United States and Canada. Jointly, our service portfolio will bring important benefits to the extensive customer network of Adalia”, stresses Marco Rudolf.

Business in Canada will continue to operate under its existing company name, Adalia Group, Inc., and current staffing will remain in place. “We are pleased that Adalia’s previous owner will act as Division Manager to ensure a smooth transition, guiding the integration of Adalia into DDG and continuing operations under the direction of Degesch America, Inc. management”, enthuses Herbert C. The goal is to continue the development of Adalia and to welcome them as an important part of the DDG foundation.

Dear Valued Partners:

The impact of COVID-19 on the United States is difficult to predict and will be uncertain for the foreseeable future. Out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure business continuity, Degesch America, Inc. has taken numerous  actions to prepare employees and business units to remain healthy and safe.

Currently, we have ample inventory and our supply chain has not been adversely disrupted. We remain in close communication with our suppliers and receive regular updates. We will pass along any possible adverse supply chain impacts to you as they are received.

Degesch America, Inc. understands industry precautionary measures may impact the way we interact over the coming months. We remain committed to ensuring the health of our employees, customers and business partners and the continuance of our products and services.

In a MEMORANDUM ON IDENTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKERS DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE dated March 19, 2020, the US Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency stated:

“If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.”

The memorandum further states that:

“The attached list identifies workers who conduct a range of operations and services that are essential to continued critical infrastructure viability, including … food and agriculture, transportation and logistics…”

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) has been instrumental in working to ensure that all state and local agencies include pest control services in any list of essential businesses that will be allowed to continue normal operational schedules.  During a March 20, 2020 webinar viewable here, https://www.pestcontrolcoronavirus.com/,  NPMA provided guidance for pest control operators during these difficult times.
